The plastic figures come from RedBox’s box 72005 “"Japanese Warrior Monks (Sohei)".”
The Ral Partha models come from their “Momoyama/Tokugawa Samurai” range, and are catalogued as follows (left to right in the picture):

53-752 Ronin with spear or naginata
The Ral Partha figures are currently manufactured and distributed by Iron Wind. In their catalogue, the models are identified as follows:

The unfortunate thing about Redbox is that there is so much flash on the figures in some sets, that it is almost like carving your own figure from plastic. I just wish they would improve their manufacturing processes, since they are about the only company making miniatures of Asian armies.
I hope you can hold off on part 2, because I have some LW samurai that I want to send you.
I agree. I've been reading the same feedback regarding Redbox but I dove in and ordered a few boxes inspite of my misgivings because they're the only ones with these miniatures in 1/72 plastic.
Yes, anyone buying RedBox needs to be aware that they will have to deal with a lot of flash. But as the readers say, they are the only game in town when it comes to Medieval Asian forces in plastic.
