Great Endeavours expands Ral Partha Colonials

Once again Great Endeavours has added to the established line of Ral Partha colonial figures. Last year they added some Boxers, and now they have gone back to the line’s main strength, and added to the British infantry.

Only one pose has been added at this point. As seen in the picture above, it depicts a regular enlisted man in the act of reloading. The picture, which comes from the Great Endeavours website, also includes an older figure for comparison.

The new pose was modeled by Tom Meier, and can be purchased in sets of 10 for $9.99. The GE website is here:

The figure in greenstuff looks fantastic. Unfortunately, by the time it comes out in whitemetal, it will look like shyte! I find it incredibly frustrating when we see such wonderful three-ups done in greenstuff/putty/wax etc. only to have them come out rough and 'ugly' in whitemetal. I just cannot understand why figure makers still insist on using this unforgiving and I'm sure more expensive material. Yes, I know there are issues at stake such as allowing for the shrinkage of the plastic once it cools etc etc. BUT this is 2011 - we should be getting state of the art product by now! Yes Perry Miniatures are great, along with a few others, but could someone please tell the guys at Strelets and Redbox to up their game. I could rave on for hours but this isn't the time or place. I just wish that someone somewhere had the cahonies to come up with figures that look like what we're promised!!!

I appreciate your comment, and thanks for reading the blog. Like you I have learned to distrust pictures of greens, when purchasing metal figures. However, things seem to be heading in the right direction, and maybe all the companies need is to hear more "voice of the customer" - like your comments above.
